The University of Economics in Katowice carries out, at particular departments, interdisciplinary research works as well as research within the area of inter-departmental research teams and specialized units functioning at the University.

Moreover, the University carries out numerous national and international research projects as well as provides expert opinions and advisory services for business entities.
Each year, the effect of this work is about 1500 publications, monographs, course books and articles.
